"Deceased Correa, listen to our supplications," says the roadside sign. Senor Correa probably died during a car accident at this location.
Next to the sign and crowding a little shrine with a little Teddy Bear and plastic flowers are dozens of plastic bottles full of water. I presume that these water bottles are gifts to his dead spirit. I really do not know as I have not talked to anyone making a deposit. Regardless what role the bottles of water play, the following photo shows how the world seeks favors from dead spirits. We see that people are asking Senor Correa for favors. Such is the attitude of the world without God and not knowing His Word. God is disgusted by such behavior. King Saul forfeited his life because he sought advise from the dead. (I Samuel 28)
And so VIM continues extending the Word of God in Chile with correct teaching through DVDs. Hopefully this teaching will percolate down to some so they will learn "not to consult the dead on behalf of the living" - "instead, should not a people inquire of their God?" (Isaiah 8:19)
Death has played a part in our ministry. During my last trip out, I discovered that Pastor Carlos Anibal who worked with our materials in Nancagua has passed to the arms of his Savior. This is the fourth Pastor to leave our ministry. We have lost a Rep. in Palena, Ancud, Lipimavida, and now Nancagua.
But life goes on. In Llallauquen (Evangelica de Dios Pentecostal), Pastora Sonia and her son select new DVDs as her husband Pastor Guillermo was occupied at work.
On this last trip south of here, not all Pastors were gone from their churches. Below Pastor Jose Calabrando of the Assembly of God in San Vicente Taqua Taqua selects his new bible courses.
We want to remind you, as we are sustained by faith down here, that we do not take you, as our Supporters, for granted. We know that many are being stretched by the down turn in the economy and loss of jobs.
